Additional D-Rings (Princess Auto)
« on: January 02, 2010, 08:23:03 PM »

Just a heads up I noticed Princess auto has a possible solution to finding additional D-Rings! I picked up a couple of D-Rings on sale for $4! It's an easy mod, Just bend the anchor base tab to wrap around the ring in a vice, drill a larger hole to accommodate the T52 Torx bed bolt and snug them down! I would have no problem fastening my dirt bike to these rings, possibly a flat black paint to match the bed and you have a much cheaper alternative than the expensive Toyota ones!

Wow thats awesome. I wish I would have known earlier. I ordeded the surplus ones a long time ago. Very pleased with them but those are a great price and much closer to me.  I only had two rings in the rear and really needed some in the middle and front of the bed.  It is a great mod to do and the trucks should have come standard with more rings

I picked up a T-55 bit and installed an additional 6 D-Rings in my truck bed today.  I bought mine from armysurpluswarehouse.com.  $10 for 10 D-Rings, great deal.  Now I have 8 back there and will be testing them out in Aug when I truck my Vmax to Fredericton.  Fantastic mod and definitely a must for me since the bed does not have the standard corner anchor points.  Oh, and I used a hole saw to make round holes in my bed mat.  Looks nice and clean.
