WTB skid plate
« on: October 21, 2009, 07:02:50 PM »

I want to beef up the look of the front of my truck but don't want a bull bar. I'm thinking of a skid plate. Anyone got any ideas?

Well I went ahead and bought the optional skid plate. I think it's a little light duty and I wouldn't want to skid across anything with it but it looks really good. Now I think I need to mount a couple of Hellas to finish off the look

I can tell you they wont take much.  I had a huge scratch and in the metal and a little dent action.  That was one of the reasons I painted mine.  But i guess it all depends on what kind of wheeling you will be doing.  But I def like the look of them.

I was thinking about that. I saw a black one with a big TRD decal on it. Looked pretty cool.

Yeah that looks sweet.  I was considering doing it in the spring, but not so sure after seeing the beating the sand and salt gave my skid plate this winter.

Yeah but I put a dent and a deep scratch in mine.  The black paint covered it up nice.  I may put herculiner on it in the spring along with my sliders.

They look a bit tougher but don't look as good in my opinion. I like the aluminum factor too. Those look like a rust maintenance nightmare.
